Have you integrated play in your work day?

Being playful is important. I realized that even more when I recently had a conversation with my coach 😄.

Since then I have made an agreement with myself to show that playfulness every day. And after a few days I already feel lighter, more in connection with myself. And that reflects on those around me.

Imagine incorporating playfulness at work. What could the impact be?

Here are some thoughts 👇

🎈It’s fun and it fosters a culture where curiosity and experimentation gets space.

🎈Playfulness reduces stress levels, making you more resilient to every-day work pressures.

🎈It promotes better team work, as shared moments of lightheartedness builds trust and social interaction, leading to a more cohesive team dynamic.

🎈Playfulness can increase job satisfaction and supports a work-life balance

Ready to try this in your team?

😉 Use a playful prompt to start the meeting. For example: What is the most used emoji on your phone? Ask everyone to contribute an answer. You immediately invite each voice to the meeting and improved a general mood.

🌸 Lead by example and show your own playful side to set a cultural expectation of playfulness. Draw something on the whiteboard, and use different colors.

🏓 Encourage your team to engage in light-hearted activities during breaks, which can boost creativity and reduce stress. A game of table tennis for example.

🎨 Encourage the team to engage in creativity. Create a painting together on a theme such as: what do we find important as a team?

Remember, integrating play into the workday doesn't mean compromising on productivity; it's about creating a balance that enhances job satisfaction and fosters a positive, dynamic work environment.
